A note from Education Connection, Executive Director
In reflecting on the ambiguity of what a global pandemic brings with it, there were many positives that came in the midst of a pool of negativity. I observed determination, persistence, and resilience. These qualities of sheer strength and will came from all around — Education Connection, the districts and schools, teachers, the students, and their families. It was not easy, no doubt – and collectively we did it and kindness prevailed!
Now, seems like an appropriate time to say once again thank you from the bottom of our EC heart, for the encouragement we received, the support, and participation with the non-direct opportunities in which we were able to serve, as we navigated the uncertainty of the 2020-21 school year. It made an impact and touched many lives of students, teachers, volunteers, and beyond. As we quickly approach the 2021-22 school year, we are thrilled to announce that we will be going back to in-person volunteering, in most of the school districts that we partner with. We can hardly contain our excitement! Whether you have volunteered with us before or are searching for a worthy and impactful way to serve the students of the Greater Austin area, we invite you to come alongside us on our mission by sitting with elementary students for 30 minutes a week, to read one-on-one, and ensure that every child is reading by the end of 3rd grade.
We are focusing on the glows and grows in 2021-22! Won’t you join us? For more information, please explore our website or email us at email@example.com
