The Reason For The Season

As we enter the final month of 2020, it is important to remember the reason for the season. Christmas is a time we celebrate the birth of our Savior…Heaven arriving to earth in a dirty manger, in the form of a baby. The reality of this picture is probably not what anyone was expecting in the arrival of the King of Kings.

Looking Back
It’s probably safe to say that no one expected 2020 to turn out the way that it has. However, as we look back over the last several months can you see Him present in and through all circumstances?
Psalm 34:8 teaches us, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.” He wants to be our peace in the storm, our light in the darkness, and the One who makes the rough places in life smooth.  He promises to be with us always.
Make it a point to take some time to look back and find the times you have seen Him present in your life.  Whatever we focus on grows. Let’s grow our thankfulness and gratitude as we celebrate the reason for the season.
An Opportunity To Give
While circumstances have prevented us from reading with our students face to face, we haven’t lost sight of the vision of seeing every child in the Greater Austin area read by 3rd grade. It cost approximately $100 a year to support each student that Education Connection serves. This amount covers staffing, training, volunteer supplies, printing, among other necessities need to run the program successfully.
As 2020 comes to a close, would you prayerfully consider directing your end of year giving to support…
One student – $100
Ten students – $1000
An entire classroom – $2500
No donation is too small to strengthen the mission of Education Connection…..every child reading by the end of 3rd grade. We know from talking with school and district partners that the need to support students will be greater when we are able to return to in-person volunteering. This means we need your help.
Please visit the Education Connection website to give a one-time donation or a recurrent gift. All donations are tax deductible.
